We are proud to present to you the first instalment of the Infinite Fire Interview Series, interviews that are conducted in a spirit ofopen dialogue between the interviewer and the interviewee(s). This first episode features library director Esther Ritman talking to dr. Marco Pasi and dr. Jeronimo Pizarro about the versatile poet Fernando António Nogueira Pessoa (1888 – 1935). In the near future, more interviews will follow with experts associated with other centers and institutions and recorded in different places and countries. Watch the video

DIVINE WISDOM – DIVINE NATURE

Exhibition in Calw, Germany

Some photographs from the opening night of the Divine Wisdom – Divine Nature exhibition in Calw, Southern Germany, on Monday 1 September. The exhibition, which closed on 6 September, drew almost 1,500 visitors and showed the visual imagery that can be associated with the Rosicrucian Brotherhood and the larger Hermetic world view. The exhibition, which will travel to several European cities, is accompanied by an English-language and a German-language catalogue, with numerous full-colour illustrations. SPACES OF SILENCE

Winnie Teschmacher is a refined and crafted artist with an artistic career spanning more than 30 years. Her creative ideas find form in delicate glass sculptures in a constant practice of concentration on the needs and wants of aesthetics, functionalism and representation. Inspired by the ever-changing and moving universe as well as our perception of it, she challenges her audience to observe again and again and so to stay in motion and transform into a more refined embodiment of time and space. Winnie Teschmacher’s Spaces of Silence may be seen as alchemical portals, fixed yet flowing doors of perception or tools for transformation as we might say, which introduce the viewer into an age in which all opposites are reconciled.

A journey into the unexpected’

A documentary inspired by ‘Fama Fraternitatis’ (1614), composed by a circle of learned friends in Tübingen which included Tobias Hess, Johann Valentin Andreae and others. Reinhard Eichelbeck and Wolfgang Jung examine the meaning, background and influence of this enigmatic work and turn to artists, scientists and spiritual seekers who speak of inspiration, daring, creativity and inner quiet. This film opens in the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica Amsterdam and benefited from the expertise of library director Esther Ritman and library founder Joost Ritman, who were asked to join the advisory committee.
